Make friends with the enemy?

So I have had a day or two to think about it and I feel a little more rationale than I did Monday. I have read through lots of info and have decided to embark on that inevitable relationship that I am going to have to make. SHE obviously likes calling the shots and loves it when one of “her” ideas comes to life. So how do I approach this? Straight in, hit her between the eyes with my ideas, be really excited about something that could make “us” stand out from all the other departments? Probably the best way, she seems to be a bit no nonsense kind of person she may even appreciate it.

One thing I have decided, I’m here for the next 4 years and that’s it. If nothing changes I’m off to look for another job. Why 4 years well fingers crossed I will be starting my degree in business studies and it will be finished by then. So 4 years for the place to change enough so that I have somewhere to move up to I do think that is quite reasonable.

On a positive note I was woken up at 6.45am yesterday morning, not that that it would be a good time normally but it was by whom I was woken by that made me so happy!!! My cat. Not much of a big deal, I am sure most people get woken up by their animals but this cat of mine has not been home for over a week and I have “lost” 4 cats. I say “lost” but my suspicion is that someone is stealing cats in my area which is just too sad and I don’t really like thinking about it. I have been blessed with the most beautiful cats ever but after my big tom cat got run over I decided no more cats. I just can not deal with the loss at the moment which is why I now have a new pup, and bless her she reminds me of all the cats I have ever had. She is a pom and so very small, black and full of attitude which all my cats had. I left my pom, rottie and my cat all together in the house yesterday morning and all was well when i got home. My pom is obsessed with the cat and doesn’t understand why he doesn’t want to play with her, maybe it is because he has been out all night and could do with out a hyperactive, very loud squealing pom jumping up at him. I hope it’s that and not that he hates her or anything. Animals are very interesting and although it has been a sad time recently with the cats they have provided me with a variety of stories some so funny and some you just wouldn’t believe. Some stories that I would like to share and log for the future would be:

Cat No 1 beats up rottie
Cat No 1 bit of a “tart”
Cat No 2 trawling the streets and trying to steal food from local shop
Cat No 2 sprays rottie in face then legs it
Cat No 5 talks to birds
Cat No 5 catches a dead chipmunk
Unknown cat brings in live bird to house and ensuing drama of having a live bird for a day
Cat No 3 brings in rat bigger than she
Cat No 3 trains kitten No4/cat No8 how to catch mice – in my bedroom

So anyway back to my problem: its time to form a work relationship, one where i don't really have to like the person but i do have to get on with them. I don't know if i can do it, i have a big mouth and it has got me into trouble in the past so can i keep it in check this time around? am i really that grown up that i can do it? who knows - i don't.
